In the midst of a very confused industry, Magnatune rises to the occasion by offering a sort of open-source attitude for their business approach. With a non-exclusive contract, variable pricing model and build-in commercial licensing capability, it was no contest when I was approached by MagnaTune to sign a deal. There are many nuances to the structure and attitude of the Berkeley-based label, so I’ll leave much of the explanation up to their site if you’d like to learn more. And, or course, as more details are finalized they will be announced here. In any case, it is quite an honor to be offered a spot on a record known for high scrutiny of the content they provide.
